The Aertight Server Platform makes Fault Tolerance easier.
Fault Tolerant systems have existed for decades, and they've evolved quite a lot since the days when you needed fleets of nerds to maintain huge power hungry systems that only fit in the basement of a university campus gym. Nowadays, you can get some levels of fault tolerance with simple raid cards, virtual machine clustering, application failover clusters, and other designs, but what you really need is total system redundancy.
Fault Tolerance of individual server components simply isn't good enough to ensure a mission critical system stays online 24/7. What you need is "system level" fault tolerance so that your virtual machines and clustered applications can take advantage of a second system in order to migrate over to in case of disaster.
Most of the major cloud providers offer expensive services that will allow you to provide fault tolerance in the cloud, but locally building your own fault tolerant cluster can be confusing and expensive.
Ugghhhh, fault tolerance on-site can be a real cluster-$#@!
We're totally with you, that's why Aertight can provide you with a local, on-site, fault tolerant server system that will support your virtual machines and highly available applications. Our design combines two of our Aertight Server Platforms connected with only a pair of network cables between them, utilizing network disk mirroring technology to create a mirror of two individual SSD drives across the two nodes. The Aertight Server Platform itself is a wall mounted Microsoft Windows Server that is enclosed in a 16 gauge steel enclosure with a touchscreen monitor embedded on the front. No data ports are exposed, and its fanless, water-resistant, dust resistant, nearly silent, and includes all SSD hard drives. The entire Aertight Server Platform has a very low power consumption, taking less than 100 Watts of power at full load.
Eliminating the shared network components like SANs, NASs, shared switches, and all the associated other network gear in fault tolerance for failover clusters is achieved by putting the Aertight Server Platfrom into place.
