Why you don't need a server rack if you buy an Aertight Server Platform.
A server rack has been the go-to solution for deploying servers for the last thirty years. Until recently, they were the only thing available if you wanted to have a sturdy, secure enclosure in which to house the servers. Unfortunately, however, although a server rack is perfect for a datacenter, or a location with a conditioned computer room, they can become complicated nightmares quickly.
We've been an IT Services provider for 15 years and have deployed countless server racks, but, listening to clients and other vendors, we realized that a server rack causes problems like:
Issues with Multiple Vendors: Server racks are big, and unless you're filling them up completely, they're a real waste of space if you have to separate out your gear from another vendor. As soon as the building control system vendor sees you've got space in your rack for his gear, he'd going to ask for access. Clients also don't want huge amounts of server rack "sprawl" so your systems often become multi-tenanted with other vendors.
Wouldn't it be great if you had a simple wall-mount server that could easily pair with another, if needed, and you didn't need a server rack?
If you DID have a system like this, you could...
- Ensure your system was isolated from other vendors
- Save a ton of space with a wall mount server
So, Aertight has built a solution. We designed and developed the Aertight Server Platfrom in Millersville, MD. Our system is a patent pending, rugged, fanless, water-resistant, dust resistant, nearly silent, Microsoft Windows Server with a touchscreen built in and no moving parts. The entire system is enclosed in a 16 gauge steel enclosure that protects the system and secures it from unauthorized entry as well. The Aertight Server Platfrom starts at a little under 10K.
