A server rack has been the go-to solution for deploying servers for the last thirty years. As soon as the building control system vendor sees you've got space in your rack for his gear, he'd going to ask for access. Clients also don't want huge amounts of server rack "sprawl" so your systems often become multi-tenanted with other vendors.
